The finger is to be pointed, in case of tumor of the mouth, against some causes and risk factors. Like the abuse of alcohol and the smoking habit, but also the poor oral hygiene, accompanied by the presence of poorly made dentures and gingival or dental problems never addressed in the right way.

Symptoms to be recognized
Preventing the tumor in the mouth means detecting possible alarm bells in time. All remembering to do some simple gestures, do-it-yourself check and specialist visits.

Regarding self-control, in search of the symptoms to be recognized, it does not take too much time or special moves. A mirror and a few minutes of careful observation of the mouth are enough: the parts to be examined are the inside of the cheek, the palate, the lips and the tongue; attention to the surface under the tongue, to be observed by pointing for a few seconds the tongue on the palate. The anomalies to be noticed and not to be underestimated are anomalous lesions, of red or white color, bubbles or strange formations on the walls of the mouth and on the tongue. If, trivially, they can be harmless lacerations, when after 15 days of treatment with the rinses, the lesions have not healed, better to contact the specialist for a visit. At this point, the dentist, having assessed the nature of the lesions, if he suspects the presence of anomalies, will prescribe further tests and will direct to the specialized center.

To be scheduled at least once every six months or a year, visit the dentist for a dental hygiene session and check carefully the state of health of the mouth.
